About

Built on the floor, not in a boardroom

servearound is hospitality operations software that started because the people running a full room were the last people anyone asked. We build with operators, during service, on the hardware they already own.

The story

Why hospitality operations software was five tools and a spreadsheet

A restaurant runs one service. The software underneath it used to run five: a booking site that did not know the floor plan, a menu that lived in a PDF, a tablet for orders, a till that closed the check, and a spreadsheet holding the whole thing together at midnight.

Each of those tools was fine on its own. The cost was in the seams between them: the covers that were double-booked, the ticket that was re-keyed wrong, the regular nobody recognised because their history lived in a different system.

servearound is the one system underneath all of it. Not five products with an integration menu, but one place where a booking, a table, an order and a check are understood to be the same guest.

The seams between tools are where a service actually goes wrong.

How we work

Three things we will not trade away

  • Operators first

Built with operators, during service: every screen answers a question somebody asked mid-shift. If it cannot be explained to a new starter in one sentence, it is not finished.

  • Fast enough for service

Sub-second interactions on the hardware a venue already owns. Software that hesitates during a rush is software the team routes around by the second week.

  • One system, not a suite

New capability arrives inside the same system rather than beside it. A product that grows by adding logins is how a suite becomes five tools again.

So far

Where this has got to

  1. 20XX

    First service

One venue, one floor, reservations only. Built alongside a team that let us stand at the pass and watch what broke.

  2. 20XX

    The kitchen joins

Orders stopped being re-keyed. The pass and the floor started reading the same ticket.

  3. 20XX

    One check, end to end

Point of sale closed the loop, and a booking became something you could follow all the way to the bill.

  4. Now

    Multi-venue groups

Networks running several venues on one system, with the office finally looking at the same service as the floor.
